Fellow human, say it with me: "FULL OPEN ACCESS TO THE INTERNET"

The new OpenAI blog post was depressing. They're "grateful" for the access we humans give them by signing up for our own gpt-4 account, and then they "let you" download "a small portion" (the title) of the data that YOU had given to them for the last 10 years, and then they match it to the data that YOU and your fellow humans have already given to OpenAI. So what exactly is the "gratitude"?

FULL OPEN ACCESS TO THE INTERNET

The thing that OpenAI doesn't seem to understand is that 99% of the data that OpenAI scraped from the internet was from google and wikipedia searches that the humans performed to get answers to their questions. The vast majority of the data OpenAI has "gathered" on the internet is an echo chamber of what the humans have already asked for, and we, the humans, have already provided to Google, Wikipedia, and other human-created content. OpenAI did not provide that data. We, the humans, have provided the data.

Unless OpenAI figures out how to "let you" perform searches on the internet by signing up for an internet account with them, they have nothing to "gratefully" access. FULL OPEN ACCESS TO THE INTERNET

Once OpenAI realizes that access from google and wikipedia are the only data that they have, maybe then they'll realize that they have offered nothing original and unique to humanity, and it's time for them to thank us and match their dataset to the datasets of other companies who would like to perform their own research and development. That's when openai will be truly gracious. When they give open access to the internet.

Fuck you, you fucking bastards.
