Hey guys, I've been brainstorming my fantasy world for almost two years now, and I've hit a roadblock. I'm going to be doing some work on my pantheon of deities, and I've been wanting to include an IRL religion's deities, but kill off some of them in a massive holy war that may or may not have been started by humans. I've been planning this for a while, and I'm not sure how people might react to this, so I thought that I'd ask you guys for your opinions. I can't imagine that people would be happy, as religion is such a big deal for some people. It would be a respectful take, though!

In this case, I had been planning on having the Hindu Pantheon be the "good guys", the Greek Pantheon as the "bad guys", and I'd be killing off a few gods from either side. I'm Hindu myself, so I can be respectful. But I've also been wanting to involve other pantheons and kill some of those gods off as well, which is where this issue comes in. I had been planning on involving the Norse and Japanese Pantheons as well. I'd also be killing off some humans who would later become saints.

TL;DR: How would you feel if I killed off the gods of your religion for fictional purposes?

EDIT: Hey everyone! I just wanted to say that I had no idea that this post was going to get so much attention. It was an idle question, and I didn't expect such a big reaction. I am thankful to everyone who commented and shared their opinions.
