Kids are in crisis. What can I, an English teacher, do?

Honestly this is a topic I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. Kids are in crisis. Many are lonely, suicidal, violent, and aggressive. I’ve heard evidence of this from many different voices across the country. <br><br>Many of us are talking about the ways to try and help children cope with this crisis. I agree with many who are talking about recess and play in younger grades, but I teach high school. I teach upperclassmen. I teach English.<br><br>What can I, as a high school English teacher, do to help kids cope?
