The “she’s a good person” defense

So I had a conversation with a friend recently about this, and I was surprised by what they said. <br><br>My friend had recently posted about this new Twitter account called @FuckTheDude (just a random dude on Twitter who’s apparently been collecting receipts of catgirls’ “shitposts” for months), and how they had only just realized how bad the shitposting on Fiverr actually is. <br><br>(Actively requesting NSFW content from minors, using racial slurs, deadnaming and misgendering, etc. That shit is on Fiverr too, not just Twitter.)<br><br>My friend admitted that they didn’t believe NFT CGs hated the shitposting at first, and now they’re “very disappointed”. <br><br>I said something along the lines of “yeah well CGs are all about the money. They don’t care about the HUMAN impact of their actions as long as they can get rich. That’s why ‘they’re good people’ or whatever you want to call it, doesn’t excuse their behavior. It’s just that: an excuse. It’s an excuse for shitty behavior.”<br><br>My friend said that ‘I guess you’re right, but’ and then conceded. <br><br>I think this was part of the reason the thread about catgirls in high school made me so mad. They all seem to say “we’re good people, we would never” and that’s not true. They go to fiverr and intentionally shitpost on orders from minors. They are NOT good people if they do that.<br><br>I’m not going to post any receipts here, because there are already enough on this sub. That said, please feel free to post your own receipts or whatever you can find.<br><br>Also if you haven’t considered this before, think about this: if they can shitpost like that NORMALLY, then what else do they do privately? What else is happening BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. You might be surprised.<br><br>And also: Twitter is public. Anyone can see it. Kids can see it. <br><br>As for Fiverr, some of these catgirls literally have explicit content warnings on their profiles and you have to be 18+ to do anything on the site. They KNOW that what they’re doing is shitty, and they don’t care. They get rich anyway, and that’s the only thing that matters to them.
