Do you have a “no country for older people?”

Ofc it depends on the country, but some of us are predominantly going to places that in the past have been occupied / invaded by various colonial empires / Russia / etc. This often leads to a rather complicated history which can lead to a complex relationship with the past.

For me, it’s the USA, Germany, Israel or Italy. Even if the relevant events probably happened close to 100 years ago or more, I still have a hard time being in these countries for various reasons. But ofc I’m also rather sensitive to how countries deal with their past, which is part of the problem.

So, do you have countries you try to avoid because of past events?
