It would be great to make elections based on policies rather than personal beliefs, values, etc. (like voting based on the economy)

I mean, why do you need to know the religion of the president? I, as a Christian, don't care if someone is a Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, etc as long as they have good policies for me and the country as a whole.

But noooo, people vote based on very personal things. Women often vote based on the gender of the candidate, people often vote based on religious beliefs, etc.

The US example is great right now. Biden increases inflation by making war with Saudi Arabia, he still gets a ton of votes because he's "not Trump". Trump became president because he was anti-abortion and did not want to allow trans people into the military.

It would be great if people educated themselves about how voting based on policies is better than voting for personal beliefs, but people don't seem to care.
