Chambers's Best Short Story Writers Are All About Verse For Some Reason

I've been looking through this sub for some inspiration on my own short stories. I have to say, it has inspired my writing quite a bit. However, it seems that many of the short stories I've read are in the style of poetry, and they don't really look like they have much story to be honest. Can anyone explain why are they like this? I just don't understand. Thanks for reading.
