My house was robbed 2 weeks ago, the scumbag was caught, and we found out some of the typical gun owner traits were in play here:

* The guy was a gun owner, and felt the need to keep his guns unlocked.
* The scumbag was selling his guns, since he couldn't afford his mortgage payment and child support.
* The scumbag needed to sell his guns quickly, and kept them unlocked to speed up the process.
* The scumbag was friends with, and was on good terms with, the thief that robbed us.
* The scumbag sincerely felt he didn't do anything wrong, and couldn't understand why he was in trouble.

The gun that was stolen was used in a murder a few blocks away a year later.

In this case, at least this gun owner is not a habitual criminal, but it doesn't change the outcome. I'm sharing this to make a point, if you think you're the "good guy", and you're not securely storing your guns, you suck. You are not better than the "bad guy" that stole your gun.

Edit: No, I'm not anti-gun, I'm anti-dumbass. I'm not against people owning guns at all. I have nothing against cars, but the dumbasses that drive them drunk piss me off. I'm sick of people thinking their rights supersede my right to not have a gun pointed at me.

Edit2: I'm very liberal, but I'm not calling for a complete weapons ban. This happened a year ago, and I'm over it. It's just come to my attention that the scumbag that sold the gun felt he didn't do anything wrong, and I felt the need to vent about the 2nd Amendment being used to justify this idiot's actions. I'm not saying he broke the law, but still...

Edit3: If you feel the need to tell me to buy a gun, stop right there. You're an idiot that thinks that guns can solve anything. You don't know me or my family, and are incapable of thinking about people who don't want to own guns. Just stop.

Edit4: I'm not against with people that responsibly own guns, although I feel that they are a minority.

Edit5: If you're truly this much of a child, that you can't listen and read without taking anything I say out of context, you are part of the problem. I can have an opinion without calling for a federal ban, stop being paranoid.
