We are letting the anime industry down

Nowadays, I’m starting to think that the anime community is part of the reason why the industry is suffering, and this is largely because of our consumption habits. Speedrun the anime, and then wait for the next season, or a spin-off, or a movie that is basically 3 episodes of the anime but with better animation. This is how we consume our anime. We aren’t letting the creators express themselves, we don’t give them the chance to properly finish their story or convey their message. We only care about the short-term pleasure that anime gives us. Speedrun the anime and then wait for the next season. We don’t even talk about the anime after finishing it, we only talk about it while watching it, and then completely forget about it once we have finished it. We have to change our consumption habits, and actually appreciate and give a chance to the creators to express their story and vision. This is the only way for the industry to thrive.
