My girlfriend and I are the children of what some might call a hoarder. Our mother has a room in this house that's full of useless things and this weekend, I'm going to go there with my father and sort out what's worth removing before the council take the property for failure to pay the mortgage.

She's got so much useless stuff, it's honestly insane to anyone who goes into that room: tubs of screws, boxes of coloured pens, a cabinet full of seashells, and even a tub of old children's clothes. She's also got a large cabinet full of CDs, a shelf full of DVDs and a number of other useless items.

If you people have any suggestions of what would be worth removing, I'd love to hear them.

**Edit:** everyone's been great so far. I'm hoping I can remove a few things before the council repossess it. The repossessing of the house is imminent, they do it quicker when it's a council house (this is in the UK for reference). I'm sorry I didn't say I was going to remove everything for my mother, it was more about what I could remove for myself: I really want to keep the seashells as a memory of her and if I can find a nice pot to put them in, I can hopefully keep them in my home.
