I (my brother, child) was supposed to be kidnapped

This literally happened right in front of my mom and dad on our front porch. My brother and I were at a dinner party at our friends house in honor of someone that was leaving. We decided to walk home since he lived only a block away from our house. (I am now 13, but was 11 at the time and my brother was 6)<br><br>Anyway, as we were walking out of the neighbors house, we noticed a lady sitting on our front porch. We thought it was our aunt, but as we got closer she started to run away. She said “nope” under her breath and took off. I stated walking after her and asked her why she was at our house. She said “make up your own story.” My brother and I ran inside to tell our parents what had just happened. <br><br>The next morning my dad found out that there was a lady that was kidnapping all the children in our neighborhood. She would sit on their porch and wait until they got home. He told us that we were to never go outside alone. I didn’t really think much of it at all since it hadn’t really happened to me.
