I used to be anti-gun, but after purchased guns and took ccw class, I fell in love with it

Hello, I hope I’m not kicked out of here. I have always been anti-guns for most of my life. I used to think guns are uncontrolled fire power that causes mass shootings, murder, suicide, etc. I used to say those who use guns are uneducated, rednecks, criminals, or just simply dumb. However, I never really had any firsthand experience with guns. It all changed when I visited my ccw class where I met my instructor. Not only was my instructor super nice and professional, he also gave me reasons why we need guns. Among all the reasons, these are the reasons that really resonated with me. <br><br>1. when seconds count, police and ambulance are minutes away. <br><br>2. Carry a gun and you might need it, not carry a gun you will need it. <br><br>3. the police cannot always protect you. <br><br>4. guns are used 3 million times a year in defense of people or property, 99% of the time no shot is fired. <br><br>5. guns are used 3 million times a year to stop a violent crime. <br><br>6. the national average response time of police is 11 minutes. <br><br>7. countries with the strictest gun laws in the world also have the highest rates of violence. <br><br>8. it is constitutionally permissible for the government to disarm the citizens of the USA. Initially in the early 20th century, it was only illegal to possess certain types of guns that were used by the military at that time. But as time went on, the government used that as a precedence to ban more and more guns. <br><br>9. children and women are more at risk without guns. <br><br>10. mass shooters don’t choose locations where they might be threatened by someone with a concealed weapon, i.e. schools, churches, synagogues, movie theaters, and shopping centers. <br><br>Listening to these reasons, I fell in love with guns ever since. I purchased 3 guns and planning to purchase more. I hope to purchased a red dot sight for my 9mm glock soon.
