My partner wants kids, I don't. How do I find this out about potential partners?

My first serious (5 year) relationship ended because I wanted kids and she didn't want them. It was excruciating and extremely painful. Looking back, I wish that I had established this sooner, because it was an irreconcilable disagreement, and extremely costly in terms of time and emotional capital. <br><br>It's been 2 years since our breakup, and I am now starting to date again. I've been seeing a new woman for about a month, and everything about her is perfect for me. I am already smitten, and I can tell that she is exceedingly smitten with me as well. She knows that I was in a prior relationship that ended because of kids. She has explicitly stated that she never wants kids... but says she can't understand people who know whether or not they want kids. She has said that that is something you can't know until you're there. I'm worried. <br><br>How do you bring up kids with someone that you are dating?
