The first GTD app I ever used was Things. I used it for a while, but kept getting frustrated. After that, I used Todoist, and then Trello. Trello was great for a while, but then it became cluttered.

Then, I Use OmniFocus, which was great for a while. I kept using GTD apps, and new styles of apps, but kept changing between apps. I use a Surface Pro Tablet, and am currently trying to use OneNote.

The reason for this post is to ask some questions, and ask for some advice. After using about a dozen GTD apps, I am still not sure what style is best for me. I am not sure what type of app to look for, and I need you guys' thoughts.

I am a college student, entrepreneur and I do freelance work. I have a lot of different things I need to track. I have a lot of projects going at one time, and some things are long-term. This makes it very hard to keep track of my tasks.

Here are my questions for you:

1. What is your current GTD setup?
2. What is your favorite GTD app you have ever used?
3. What are you GTD deal breakers?
4. Do you have to have a GTD app, or can you use a note-taking app, calendar, or other thing?

My biggest deal breaker is speed. If I can't quickly look at my tasks, I get distracted. I want to be able to quickly add tasks, mark tasks as completed, and quickly look at all of my tasks. I need to be able to customize my app. I want to have separate lists for some things, and tags for others. I want to be able to create custom views to quickly look at my tasks. I don't want to be limited to certain fields like title, due date, and priority. I want to be able to create as many fields as I want, and set the fields as I want.

I still am not sure what kind of app is best for me. I might be able to use a note-taking app. I don't think that I want to use a Kanban board. I think that I need something that will allow me to create a list of tasks, and mark tasks as completed.

Please let me know if you have any recommendations, or anything else.

TLDR: I have tried many different GTD apps, and still don't know what app is best for me. Let me know what apps you have tried, and what apps you would recommend.
