If you can’t answer "why" to something you do, it’s probably a bad idea

TLDR: I have a few general productivity tips that I think can be very helpful to a lot of people. (Not my ideas, just things I have realized have helped me greatly) # 1 If you can’t answer "why" to something you do, it’s probably a bad idea. (e.g. why do I never wash my socks before putting them away) # 2 There is no such thing as "great", "bad" ideas or anything else to humans with a functioning brain. "will it work with this?" is the correct answer. # 4 Rid yourself of false dichotomies. "chaotic bedroom" vs "organized bedroom" is not the correct binary. Is this messy bedroom making me more productive? # 5 The most important thing is "will this idea improve my immediate productivity (e.g. "will washing dirty socks make me more productive?") or # 6 "Will this improve my long-term productivity?" (e.g. "will getting healthy make me more productive in the long term?") # 7 "Will this keep me from immediate pain?" (e.g. is "will showering before work keep me from getting fired?") # 8 "will this idea improve my immediate sense of well-being" (e.g. is "chaos" making me less productive? # 9 "Will this make me more productive in the long term?" (e.g. is "will showering before work keep me from getting fired?") # 10 "will this idea improve my long-term sense of well-being" (e.g. is "will washing my bedroom floors make me feel better in the long term")
