I'm going to use a space heater and front-loading wash machine to build a small scale ocean system today. How should I go about it and what should I expect?

I've got about $100 and a Saturday afternoon to build a small scale ocean. I've set aside a 5 gallon bucket in which to build this. I'm planning to make this a tropical climate ocean. I'm curious how long it will take to get the water warm enough for a tropical climate. I'm also curious if I need to use a submersible water pump or if I can get away with using something else entirely. <br><br>I've never attempted a project like this before so I'm especially looking to learn about any common pitfalls that I'll face along the way.
