You hear it a lot nowadays. "You're a gaslighter." "You're gaslighting." It means to try to make someone question their own sanity. It's based on the 1944 film "Gaslight", starring Ingrid Bergman, where a husband is trying to make his wife believe she's going insane, as part of a broader scheme.

It's about a woman being convinced she's going crazy by someone else, when she's not. So anytime someone questions whether or not politicians are corrupt, or whether or not corporations are screwing us over, or whether or not the media is telling us the truth, they should be called a gaslighter, right? But no, it's the other way around. In reality, it's *us* who are trying to make them see that certain things are true, and it's "the powers that be" who are trying to say that we're the crazy ones.

This has been a propaganda scheme since the beginning of the modern US empire. Just remember all the stories of "Communist" sympathizers being placed into mental hospitals during the Red Scare. That's what "gaslighting" was before they had a name for it. It's about making people think that those who protest or dissent are just mentally ill, and should be ridiculed or locked up as a result.

Today, you hear stories about "Antifa" activists being placed into mental hospitals. Nothing has changed since the 50s, and it's all part of the same agenda.

This is propaganda. Using certain words to make us think certain things. "Gaslighter" sounds nasty, right? So when someone calls you that, it sounds really bad, but the truth is that you're just standing up against "the man". All the powers that be are doing is trying to make you question your own sanity. There's nothing wrong with you, though. You're not a "gaslighter" just because you don't agree with the mainstream media. In fact, it's them who are the true gaslighters.
