What the HECK is wrong with this place?

I used to love my time here years ago. Good vibes and humorous topics, with fair mods and a lot of prevalent topics.<br><br>Now, the vibes are dark and hostile, the mods are power tripping assholes, and the "topics" are all the same with no one actually using the chat.<br><br>I tried to get a feel for the site, but the latest posts, also known as "trends," read like this:<br><br>* "no, you're a lonely loser if you like anime"<br>* "no, *YOU'RE* a lonely loser if you don't like anime"<br>* "my GF cheated on me and I'm sad"<br>* "I'm a complete failure of both my parents and society, what should I do?"<br>* "I'm a failure, it's over... I have no choice but to go to my room, lock the door, and smoke weed for the next three days."<br><br>No, seriously, all of the top posts on the site are like this.<br><br>I see a lot of complaining that the site has become a bunch of dudes who are angry at society and angry at women and angry at everything and just want to be angry.<br><br>The problem with the site is that a bunch of it is *mod approved.*<br><br>Quite literally, a lot of mods are supporting their bitterness and pandering to it with mod approved content.<br><br>Quite literally, mods are approving the complaining that the site has become hostile and bitter.<br><br>Quite literally, mods are approving bitterness and hostility and supporting it.<br><br>Quite literally, mods are approving bitterness and pandering to it, then complaining about the site and the users in the same posts.<br><br>What the heck is wrong with this site? I haven't seen one thing about 4chan in any mass media source (or social media, for that matter) that's positive, and this site is infamous for giving a voice to society's "losers."<br><br>I'm not even denying that there are a lot of issues in society, and a lot of problems need to be addressed.<br><br>But no, I'm not a loser. I'm not alone. I don't smoke DMT in my room all day. I'm not a failure, and I'm not bitter.<br><br>I have a lot of problems with society and the modern day world... but I'm not consumed by my problems, and I'm not alone.<br><br>And I'm not bitter. I'm a happy dude, and I'm chatting with you all out of boredom.<br><br>I don't need to be bitter, and my problems don't consume me.<br><br>I'm not defending the world or the people in it. There's a lot of problems that need to be addressed.<br><br>I'm defending the average dude who enjoys anime, or whoever it is you're angry at that day.<br><br>They're not the problem. They're not the reason you're alone.<br><br>And Mods... I get it, you're bitter, and you're angry. You think you're this powerful voice for the average guy.<br><br>You're not.<br><br>There's a lot of problems in society, but no, you're not the voice of the voiceless. Maybe you used to be, maybe you had some good intentions.<br><br>But your bitterness and hostility, and your incessant complaining, has made this site hostile and bitter.<br><br>Quite literally, mods are supporting bitterness and hostility. Mods are the problem.
