I was fired today after a parent tracked me down and came to my home to attack me.

A former student's parent came to my home today, after tracking me down, and screamed at me and threw rocks at my windows and then attacked me. I called the police and they were there in a few minutes. I pressed charges, and now the parent is under a no-contact order. My principal was notified by the parent and they fired me, because of the fact that the parent is now in a legal dispute with me. I'm absolutely heartbroken. I had been teaching there for two years, and I loved it. I really don't understand. Where do I go from here?<br><br>Edit: it happened in the US, and I'm aware that I cannot be fired over this, so I'm going to contact a lawyer.
