Just got the most terrifying Uber driver and I am really confused?

I always ask my Uber drivers if everything is okay, because it’s the bare minimum to make sure they’re not upset about anything that may effect how they drive. I ask this to every driver if they seem off. Today I got an Indian guy with a thick accent, he looked like he was in his 50’s. He just looked at me in the rear view mirror and said “no, I am evil”. I thought I misheard and he said he’s on the clock so I tried to ignore it. He was acting extremely strange and I felt uneasy but I sat in the back seat and just tried to be quiet. I waited until we were at a red light and I asked if he was okay again. Mind you, he knew I wasn’t listening to music or anything, and he just kept looking at me in the rear view. He said no, I am the devil. I got really scared and didn’t know what to do. Mind you, I’m in a very populated area so I’m not in the middle of no where. He kept looking at me in the rear view and just telling me how he’s not okay. I finally saw the GPS divert from my route. I asked if we’re going the wrong way, mind you, I waited until we were at a red light again. He told me to stop asking questions and that I don’t need to know. I started to panic and I was out of my body. He started telling me to get out when we were at a red light so I just opened the door and ran out of the car. I saw a security guard and told him what happened. He said it’s not normal for the Uber drivers to act like that and took me inside to stay safe. It’s the creepiest thing that has happened to me. He’s a real Uber driver so idk what was wrong with him. Has anything like this happened to you? <br><br>Edit: I saw many comments on asking why you wouldn’t get out at the next red light and walk away, I guess I just froze in fear and didn’t want to make it worse. I waited until we were at the next red light to ask if we’re going the wrong way and told him to stop. He got angry and opened the door so I got out when I could. <br><br>Edit 2: To clarify what I said about waiting at a red light to ask questions, I did ask questions while he was driving. He just knows I’m not listening to music or anything so I tried to be more subtle by waiting at a red light to ask and not being loud, in case he really was the devil.
