I (23f) have been trying to get a job at my dad's company but they haven't been hiring for my job in a while but they recently put up an ad for the job and I could finally apply. It's a lot of different positions throughout a department in a big company like reception, handyman and some computer stuff stuff like that. I have a degree in business but I've had daily jobs the past 2 years since I finished college but I really want to work for my dad's company because my grandfather worked there and I could be the 2nd in our family to work there.

My dad is only a manager of the department I'm trying to apply for but the CEO knows him very well. I've been accused of applying for the job just gain leverage over my dad. I've been to the CEO's house, I know his kids, we all have dinner sometimes. I'm accused of "playing" the CEO and trying to gain leverage over my dad. The CEO is not mad at me but he accused me of doing this to my own father but I don't see how I'm doing this. I don't have a job right now because the one I previously had is closed down indefinitely because of the economy so I really need this job.

My dad is mad at me for applying and said we shouldn't be talking right now. I don't really live with my dad I live with my partner. He said that he doesn't want his CEO to think that we're colluding behind his back when I apply for the job. He's insinuating that I would get special treatment because I'm the "bosses daughter". I'm not sure if I'm the AH for not talking this over with him before I applied.
