People are not as good a listeners as they think they are

I'm here again, coming up to a dark period in my life. Wanting to talk a lot, but find myself unable to do so. I've always been the type to try a shield the people around me from problems in hopes that it would make my relationships better. I was a shield.<br><br>I've learned through the years that those who have told me their life story and problems have done so because they believed I was a good listener. I was a shield.<br><br>I've learned that people I've trusted have problems of their own problems. I've seen it, I know they have. And those who have problems have very little extra capacity to listen. They can't.<br><br>I've realising more and more problems I've had in realising I've trusted the wrong people.
