Why is having a midlife crisis so normalized for men?

That's pretty much it. I was in the grocery store yesterday and a mid 30s guy was wearing an iron maiden t-shirt, artic camouflage pants, and had a leather jacket on. He looked like he just came off of a midlife crisis that started in the 80s and never ended. This dude repelled me like he was a gym rat on a dating app, smacked a 5 that I took a chance on and now I want to die. Literally had his balls served to him as he started to lose his hair.

Why do men like that get to have such an easy time in the dating scene, after they've lived their best years and are often times smacked down by a 5 that repelled them. Explain to me what a 23 year old woman gains from dating a 35 year old guy? Is it the maturity? Because I thought the midlife crisis was about recapturing youth.

So you can have moderate success dating when you're young, make your mistakes, become a loser, and then boom! Instant reprieve and access to college aged women, only to have it all smacked down on you when you hit your 40s. Meanwhile I've been on the bottom since day one.
