My ex narc was a snake oil salesman in disguise

I recent read a vid on narc snake oil salesmen in disguise and it made me think about my ex narc. He was a huge snake oil salesman in disguise. The guy was so big on herbs, vitamins, essential oils and everything else you can think of. He used to say “you don’t need medicine, you can cure yourself with what mother nature gave us (aka essential oils)<br><br>My ex was so big on essential oils. He had a bunch of paperback books on hand and he would consult them on what “oil” you needed for what. He was I huge believer in naturalism and would always criticize conventional medicine. He would also say that doctors were money hungry and that’s why they say essential oils don’t work. <br><br>He was a snake oil salesman and he spent most of his days on the computer making sure he could sell oil. I think his idea of selling essential oils was a way to make money without having to be productive.<br><br>He went to a store and bought a bunch of essential oils, he would list them as used/new (without saying they were used) and would put the prices 2-3x higher then the original price. He had a lot of people buy his snake oil. To this day he still sells oils. He buys from one place, then lists them on another saying it’s used and the original price was higher. Then when he gets the money from the person who buys his “new essential oil” he closes the account and takes out the money. I’m not entirely sure, but I know that’s what he did.<br><br>He also would buy tea from a different place and sell it at a higher price. I remember a long time ago I got some tea, in a bag from him and when I went to the store I was like “wow this is cheaper, why did you charge more?” And he was like “oh I got it from a different place, I can show you the receipt if you want”. I didn’t believe him and I was like “no”. I kind of figured out that he was selling tea that he bought in bulk at a lower price, then cut open the tea bag and put it into a different bag and sold it for more (aka snake oil tea)<br><br>He did a lot of other snake oil shit and he still does to this day. He’s a manipulative piece of shit. I don’t see why people still buy into his shit. <br><br>Anyway, if you see a man on eBay, Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist selling snake oil and his screen name is something like @realfakejason , it’s probably my ex narc.
