What are your thoughts on the long term effects of AI on human beings?

With (hopefully) improving quality of life for a lot of people (more food, health, comfort, security) I was wondering if (and how) AI could affect our natural evolution (or if it will).

For example, the overall need for humans to stop having natural instincts to survive and getting at the same time most of the basics needs easily provided (as long as they are able to work and bring back food).

Although, the same question is valid in the opposite way: how is our generation and the next going to adapt to this (hopefully peaceful) revolution?

Maybe not in our lifetime, but in a few centuries, how is this going to affect our way of living, the evolution of humans overall, and the current notion we have of human at all.
