Republican politicians are absolutely ecstatic that a Democratic candidate won in Georgia because they never wanted to win the White House in the first place.<br><br>The GOP only cares about winning Congressional and Senate seats, because they know that is where all the power is. They don't want the presidency because they don't want to be responsible for the impending economic and environmental disasters that await whoever occupies the Oval Office come January 2025.<br><br>The Republicans know that they can't do anything to prevent the impending catastrophes, so they don't want to be blamed for them. Democrats, on the other hand, are going to inherit a country in shambles. They'll be blamed for the problems, and will likely lose the White House in 2028. Meanwhile, Republicans will stonewall any attempt at progress and watch gleefully as the Democrats fail, and ultimately win the White House in 2028.<br><br>The fact that Warnock won in Georgia absolutely ensures that the Democrats won't have the 60 seats required to pass legislation without Republican cooperation. The GOP gets to blame the Democrats for the country's woes without having to actually try and do anything to mitigate them. <br><br>This is how it has played out for the last 40 years and I have no reason to believe that it will change in the next 4 years.
