No Organic Chicken Nuggets was posted on Chambers in /c/Drugs (initially) in May 2021. OCNs came to be because Ian wanted to go on an adventure. He sold my house and all of our belongings and bought a van, slept in it for a few months, traveled across the United States and Canada with our two dogs, and eventually settled in Eugene, Oregon. He was a lawyer for cannabis companies at the time and thought it would be an excellent opportunity to settle in a state where cannabis was recreationally legal.

We wanted you guys to watch Ian’s adventures as they happened from his perspective. Ian had never smoked weed before Reddit. He had never been high before Reddit. He had never handled large amounts of cannabis before Reddit. In fact, he had never even seen an eighth of cannabis before Reddit. Ian’s adventures happened in real-time. All of you saw Organic Chicken Nuggets from their conception to the current day.

Ian’s OCNs came about because cannabis-quality memes were in very short supply. You guys needed cannabis-quality memes. And Ian delivered. His OCNs have brought laughter, happiness, and sanity to the world. His OCNs have helped us see the world in a different light. They have helped us all get through the last few years.

The state of Oregon has a weird cannabis law that prohibits cannabis-infused edibles from being sold to recreational customers. However, it is perfectly legal for medical marijuana patients to buy and consume cannabis-infused edibles. The Oregon medical marijuana program had qualified conditions that allowed patients access to medical cannabis. You could have cancer, PTSD, MS, or other things. But Ian had Crohn’s disease, which qualified him for a state medical marijuana card. His Crohn’s qualified him for edibles. Ian loves cannabis-infused edibles. Organic Chicken Nuggets is primarily about edibles.

The cops raided Ian’s house one day, and they arrested him. They searched his house after that. They found a bunch of cannabis edibles and a large amount of cannabis. They charged Ian with two felonies for possession and delivering controlled substances. Ian was not selling cannabis; he was gifted it from people who knew him as Dr. Organic. He wasn’t making money from his cannabis, but the cops treated him as if he was a drug dealer. Ian was never a drug salesman. He was never a drug dealer. He was never a businessman. He was not a drug smuggler. He was never a drug addict.

Ian was offered a plea deal. He can plead guilty and be placed on house arrest for six months. He can plead guilty and be on probation for two years. He can plead guilty and go to jail. Ian has to sign a plea deal to take these options. Ian is against plea deals. He believes in his innocence and is going to trial in December.

Ian will be sentenced in December. The judge may give him one of the options above. The judge may also send him to trial. We may do nothing and sit in prison for 14-40 months. We may be on house arrest, probation, or jail. We can’t do the exact same thing we did before. But we can do something new.

I would like to answer all of your questions about Ian and Organic Chicken Nuggets. AMA!
