My husband and I have been together for 20 years. We still get along amazing, love each other to death, and have a great time in and out of the bedroom.

He's always been sweet and gentle with me. Treated me like porcelain, essentially. While we have always been close, I've always felt like he's still kind of put me on a pedestal. I've always thought this is somewhat a generational thing. (I'm 38 and he's 40, he's old fashion in a few ways)

Lately, though, he talks to me way more rough and casual. He still isn't mean or anything, but he uses way more curse words and is more dismissive when he's talking to me.

For example, yesterday I asked him if he wanted to watch a movie with me, and he said "nah I'm good" without even looking away from his video game. This is a big change from him because normally he would have stood up, made sure I was okay, and then went back to what he was doing.

I'm not mad at the change. I'm honestly kind of happy? It's always been something that bugged me that he treated me so differently. I feel way closer to him now that he talks to me like one of the guys.

But I feel like there has to be a reason why he's started talking to me like this. And a few of my friends have suggested that he's being more authentic with me now, and that means he was hiding something from me.

But my gut is telling me he's just more comfortable with our relationship, and that's why he's being more casual. (Sorry, I realize this is a dumb question but I'm just looking for some insight)
