Please assume 0 costs for the actual birth. I have read a thousand articles and I’m still not sure.

It seems like baby food is less than $10/week. Diapers over 5 years is equally ~$25/week.

I’m seeing mixed info on childcare. If you work in an office you have to pay for it, but if you work from home it seems like you get to keep the money you were saving for commuting and spend time with your kid at the same time. I read some places where people were getting free in-person childcare for 5 days/week while they went to work.

What makes kids so expensive?

Some studies say 230k/year over 17 years for a kid. Do you need to save 230k cash before having a kid? Can you explain the math?
