is anyone else annoyed by the recent lack of a side panel when using search?

is anyone else annoyed by the recent lack of a side panel when using search? it doesn't show the search query on the side anymore. it also doesn't show "options" to make the search results more specific.<br><br>are they trying to make search worse or something? why?
