My husband is asking me to be more submissive around family as a way to make them like me

I am not a Christian but I'm married to one. Tomorrow I am going to church with his family. They do not like me and I really want them to. One thing they always complain about is that I'm too strong and not submissive enough. This is true. I have always been a strong willed woman. However, I am trying my hardest to make them like me. I looked through all of the patriarchal verses of the bible and made a list of some of the most submissive behaviors I can practice. <br><br>Right now, I'm a little sad. I wish I could be myself around my husband's family but the only way to make them like me is to be a submissive woman. I am definitely going to be myself on the outside of the house but at least I'll have the satisfaction of knowing that at least sometimes they like me. That is better than nothing.<br><br>**PS**. I am not trying to make anyone follow patriarchal values, I just need to do this to make them like me. I am a very strong woman outside of the home and will remain so.
