Today I finally experienced the difference between the Philips Hue and the Yeelight bulbs.

I have been using the Philips Hue bulbs for over 10 years and was very happy with them. They are very reliable and well made. The white temperature goes from 1800K to 6500K which is great. One of my favorite features is the hue saturation Philips app. I had, however, heard that the Yeelight bulbs are more vibrant and show more colors.

I purchased one Yeelight bulb and was blown away by the colors. The colors are much more vibrant and intense, and it really shows. This is because the Yeelight bulbs have three separate LEDs for red, green, and blue colors whereas the Philips Hue bulbs have an RGB-White LED. I was able to compare the two and honestly, the colors the Philips gives out are a bit dull compared to the Yeelight ones.

It's no doubt that the Philips Hue bulbs have better build quality and last longer. Also, the fact that they are fully supported Philips app gives much better white quality (the white color is warm and can be dimmed without losing warmth).

I'm still happy with Philips Hue, but the Yeelight bulbs will be used where I want to display rich colors.
