First off, I'm a guy. So be nice.

My girlfriend is 29 weeks pregnant. We're having a little girl. We made a pregnancy announcement video for YouTube and the comments were overwhelmingly positive. However, one comment really stuck out. It was from a woman claiming to be a mom of 5, saying, "You're not gonna put her in diapers? Or formula feed her? Or use pacifiers? What the hell are you gonna do?"

My girlfriend is adamant that we let our baby do her business outside. I'm trying to explain to her that it's just not practical. Babies don't have the ability to communicate their needs like that. What if we're on a car trip, or in a restaurant, or at someone else's house? What then?

I'm at a loss. What should I do?
