The day after *the day after tomorrow*

The day where the entire world freezes and all hell breaks out. I guess I should somehow be used to this by now because somehow I survived the asteroid, the zombie apocalypse, and the robot uprising. But to be honest this one hit hard. Of all the things I thought would take out humanity, I never thought it would be this. Of all the things I thought I’d die of, I never thought it’d be hypothermia.

I woke up to my boyfriend laying in bed with me, shaking. I groggily rolled out of bed and shuffled to the thermostat. But of course, the power is out and everything is dead. I groggily make my way to the kitchen to somehow get the fire started. By the time I finish, the living room is less than 40 degrees. The TV on the ground, destroyed. The back wall cracked. The balcony open. I bring my boyfriend outside to warm him up and bring him inside with the cat. Then I make my way back to check out the damage.

First I check the laundry room. It’s completely ruined. Water everywhere. I can’t check the guest bedroom without braving the elements, so I call my friend. The back wall is gone. The entire house is basically uninhabitable. I check my kitchen and the back is basically entirely smashed. Now I know somehow the balcony is still standing, but it’s basically broken with the wall on top of it. I make my way inside and see that it’s completely totaled. The fridge is literally holding up the wall. I check the guest bedroom and it’s completely smashed, however the bathroom is somehow fine.

I grab my cat and boyfriend and somehow make my way out to the living room to find I don’t know how I’m gonna get through the broken wall. I check my closet, to find it’s completely smashed as well. I check my room and it’s fine, but the sliding glass door is missing and the wall is completely gone. I find a crowbar in the garage and find I have to break through the wall in my room to get out of the house. I get out, and now I have to brave the elements.

It’s freezing. I can’t feel my feet. I walk across the street to check on my family. When I get there, it’s completely totaled. The back of the house is literally missing. I go inside and find my dad half dead. I bring him outside and call the paramedics. Then I check the rest of the house. My room’s walls are caved in. My dad’s room is also completely totaled. The living room ceiling collapsed. And the rest of the house is completely gone. I check the garage and find everything completely ruined. Including my dad’s car.

When I walked outside, I just suddenly wanted to cry. Everything is ruined. The entire neighborhood. No house is left unscathed. Some are completely destroyed. The entire back of the neighbor’s house is gone. The entire house next door is completely gone. The house in front of me is completely ruined. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to go back to my house again. I don’t even know where I’m gonna go. I have no idea what to do now. I probably will never be able to go back to my house again. My dad probably won’t be able to get a new house again. I mean I don’t know how I’m gonna get a new house again. I can’t believe I was actually somehow able to make it through the asteroid, the zombies, and the robots. And yet I fell victim to the fucking weather. I never thought in a million years I would fall victim to the weather.

I honestly just wanna cry right now. The world is gone. There is no recovery. It’s just completely gone.
