When I was 16, I got my then 30 year old coworker fired because he wouldn’t stop trying to get me to send him nudes.

This was about 5 years ago. I was 21 I guess now.

As a teenager I worked at a cafe. I was 16 years old at the time and a lot of people thought I was a lot older than I actually was because I’m tall, have long legs and had a lot of curves.

I was new to that particular job and honestly very shy. I had a coworker named David who was in his 30s and always made me uncomfortable. He stared at me a lot, talked to me a lot and at the time I just chalked it up to him being nice.

He eventually asked me for my Snapchat and I gave it to him without thinking much of it.

He startedsnapchatting me pictures of himself and asking me to send some back, of myself. I just sent selfies, nothing sexual but he just kept pushing and pushing and pushing. I honestly didn’t know how to say no. Every day he would snap me these pictures and just push and push until I said yes.

Finally, I went to my manager and showed them all the pictures he sent and all the conversations and they were appalled. They told me to go home for the day and the next day I came in, he was let go.

When I showed my manager the pictures, I broke down in tears because I thought it was all my fault. I felt guilty for not saying no. My manager held me and told me it wasn’t my fault and that I did the right thing by coming to them.

It still bothers me to this day that I didn’t stand up for myself.

Edit: This is NOT an attempt at a pity party and I’m so sorry if it came off that way. I just wanted to get something off my chest that has held onto me for so long and I appreciate all the feedback.
