So I woke up to a notification of someone cloning my code and posting it to a shady link shortener site

I’ve never lost a lot of sleep over people stealing my simple coding projects, but I did share them with the intent of helping people. I think the real reason I’m feeling violated is I have no idea how to prevent trolling like this to stop happening in the future. My projects are for beginners, so I don’t really care about financial loss, but what I’m most irked by is that I can’t share them without some people copying and passing them off as their own, and selling them to other people. If I can prevent it from happening in the future, it could save me a lot of trouble finding and addressing this kind of thing. But I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, so I think I’m going to need advice from other people.
