CMV: Marriage doesn't work for everyone and should not be considered the ultimate life goal.

I've been married twice and both ended up failing. I'm 46 years old now and recently, I started dating again. My family urged me to settle down with the person I'm with right now and I'm not sure if it is the right thing to do. I've been burned by marriage before and I don't think I would be able to handle the emotional toll of another failed marriage. So, I'm perfectly happy with being in a long-term relationship and not exactly getting married. While I understand that marriage is a beautiful concept and everyone should have the option to settle down, I think it is not for everyone and those who choose to remain single or in a long-term relationship without marriage should be just as respected as those who are married. If you can change my view, I'm open to hearing your argument. Thanks!
