I have a friend who is a highly paid software engineer. I’m a teacher. When we talk about money or finances, her responses are inevitably “but wouldn’t it be better to just pay for this thing that will save you time?” I’m looking for advice on how to communicate that I’m trying to save my money now so I can have more time later. I want to be able to after two more years, then I’m done.

Tips?

Edit: I am struggling to get a good night’s sleep tonight because I feel so overwhelmed by all the replies? Thank you for trying?
