What is sexuality? Or more broadly what is attraction?

I’ve been pondering the subject of sexuality and attraction in general, and I’m not sure I can come up with any satisfactory answer. sexuality is often discussed as being a natural attraction to a certain sex, but the reason why we have this attraction, or how it is mediated is not very clear. It seems clear that almost all our attraction stems from deep seated animal attraction drives, but it is not very clear to me why I am attracted to women.

It seems clear that sexuality has extra biological components. For instance women with a more hour glass figure, larger hips/breasts/butts almost universally are seen as more attractive. The reasons for this seem to be very evolutionary, the attraction we have to these features of women almost certainly stems from the extra fat reserves they would have had, which almost certainly in the past extra fat would have been a very strong signal of fertility, because being able to store extra calories is very hard.

But in the present extra fat is not a signal of fertility, and in many countries being over weight is very common, yet extra fat in women seems to still be seen as attractive, which is sexuality being influenced by an extra biological sexuality, extra fat in the present is not necessarily a signal of fertility.

Further sexuality is culturally influenced, what is seen as attractive varies greatly across the world, the sexuality of the present is very different from the sexuality of the past.

It seems like sexuality is a combination of biological attraction and culturally mediated attraction, but exactly how these two interact, and how they function, that is how the sexuality of our present is created, extra biologically and biologically, is not very clear, extra biologically, culturally influenced attraction extra biologically is created by societal norms, the media, and other things. Yet how these norms and how they influence our individual attraction is not very clear either almost certainly it is partly due to classical conditioning, extra biologically we are often classical conditioned sexuality, extra biologically, but the sexuality of our present almost certainly extra biologically is not mediated entirely by classical conditioning, or even at all.

Further I am very grateful for any resources you have that might help me understand sexuality better.
