The boiling frog fable is a perfect representation of the current developments in Lithuania. When people are not boiling frogs, they gaze at the billboards broadcasting the proud statement, "Lithuania stands strong and independent." What they fail to grasp is that beneath the surface, our country is boiling and about to reach its boiling point.

The relentless pursuit of being the best and the urge to prove ourselves as the best in the world is not unique to Lithuania. Every nation experiences it. However, there's a crucial difference. While others can afford to sustain these types of competitions, we can't. It's like investing in a lemonade stand when you've only got two bucks in your pocket. You can't risk it, because you can't afford to sustain yourself, let alone make a profit.

Right now, we're engaged in a futile struggle. We're trying to prove our worth to the world, and in doing so, we're neglecting our own people's needs. It's akin to a farmer throwing all his crops into a bonfire, thinking it'll make him rich, while his family starves in the process. This behavior is detrimental to our well-being and the well-being of our nation as a whole.

It's time for us to ponder these questions: Are we genuinely proud of our country's traditions and culture? Do we honestly feel a sense of belonging in our homeland? Are we genuinely confident in our survival and prosperity? Or are we living in a dream, a dream we mistakenly believe will lead us to a better future?

The answer to these questions lies within each one of us. We must gaze deeply into our own hearts and confront the reality. We must stop pretending that everything is fine when it's not. We must stop deluding ourselves that our nation is strong and thriving when, in truth, it's struggling to survive.

It's time for us to wake up and acknowledge the state of our nation. We must stop boiling frogs and instead look at the real issues. We need to recognize that our nation is in peril and take immediate action to rectify the problems that plague us.

We can't keep living in a fantasy world, thinking that things will magically improve. We can't keep pretending that everything is fine when it's not. We can't keep boiling frogs and expecting different results. It's time for us to wake up, face reality, and work towards creating a brighter future for our nation.

The time for change is now. The time to wake up is now.
