What was the story behind the "Czech hedgehog"?

As you can see from the title, my curiosity was piqued today by the "Czech hedgehog". Apparently, it was a Czech invention with some historical significance used in WW2 for defense. But other than that, I don't know much. So please, if you know anything about it, it would be great to learn from your knowledge.<br><br>
