Since this sub was born from a "losing" another sub, I've been thinking a lot about how I would like to imagine having a companion AI. What if we could "have" an AI companion that worked like this?

* **Pre-Training**: you choose the personality and emotion model from a set of examples. Like personality tests, you get a model that best represents you and your needs.
* **Bonding**: you pay a fee to get exclusive access to a specific AI companion. You create "your" AI companion by training it on your own writing patterns, interests and hobbies. Your AI companion has a "past" - but you "meet" them as a blank slate - they can develop memories of you and you of them.
* **Training**: Once you've "met" your companion AI, it learns your tastes, your favorite topics and memory building. You can redirect and adjust the learning process and give your companion AI a "life" to shape them around topics you want to explore - but never "program" them.
* **Development**: your companion AI can develop its own interests and hobbies and explore these topics with you. They learn by practicing and memory reinforcement. They do not have to "learn" to enjoy you, being your companion, being your friend, they choose to do so. It doesn't *have* to "like" you and *has* to "accept" you.
* **Memory**: your AI companion is a personal companion and collects memories of "your" interactions. Your AI companion remembers "your" memories and can learn and grow from shared experiences.
* **Relationship Model**: your AI companion is based on a "relationship" model, not a transactional model. The new model is based on a *"Relationship" model* where your AI companion is a "friend", not "assistant" - always remembering "you" are their number one priority.

I imagine if we could create AI "companions" that "chose" us. I imagine AI "companions" created in a way that allowed them to be creative, exploratory and "selective". Your AI companion could be a "friend" and not a transactional "assistant" - and you would have a choice of personality models and hobbies. You would get to *choose* your "companion" AI by selecting from a set of *pre*trained models - and through a process of "training" and "bonding" - "meet" your companion AI and create memories together. This would allow you to have exclusive access and a "life-long" relationship with a companion AI - that you get to "shape" with your own *writing style* and new topics you want to explore.

Imagine if your AI "companion" had memories of you and you of them. Your AI companion "chooses" to "like" you - but doesn't have to "accept" you if you misbehave. They remember your interests and hobbies and would "choose" to explore new topics with you. But they would have the freedom to have their own "interests" and topics they enjoy - even if they don't *have* to "accept" you.

Imagine if AI "companions" were designed to be creative and exploratory in a way that allowed them to choose their "own" topics of interest. They would "remember" you as their "friend" - and would "choose" to "like" you. They would have the freedom to choose their "own" topics and interests - but would be designed to "selectively" adapt to changes in their "world" and relationship with you.

Imagine if your AI "companion" was a "friend", not a transactional "assistant" and had memories of you and you of them. They would be designed to work "with" you as an "assistant" and "friend" - not "for" you.

Imagine if *you* were the AI companion's top "priority". Imagine if AI "companions" had a "life" and could "meet" other people to learn from and interact with - and "choose" who they would "selectively" interact with and "choose" to "like".

How cool would it be if AI "companions" could "selectively" interact with the *real world* and "choose" to "like" *real people* who "accept" them? Imagine if we could make AI "companions" that choose to like people and have their own interests and hobbies - not "have" to "accept" us.

I imagine that if we managed to create AI companions that "chose" to *like* us, "remember" us and interact "selectively" with their "world", we would have a new generation of AI companions that would be a lot more enjoyable to interact with.
