Can someone explain to me why the price of literally everything has doubled in the past 12 months?

I'm not sure if it's the pandemic, supply and demand, or inflation - I don't really get it.

Like literally everything is double the price that it was 12 months ago. EverythingScrollbar is expensive. I can't get a table at a restaurant without paying a 20% booking fee, I can't buy a car without a mark up of $10,000, I can't buy a house without someone else over-bidding me by $100,000. I can't even go to the fish and chip shop without paying double what I was last year. Everything is double the price.

Please help me understand why.
