Hello, let me introduce myself first, I'm from India and I'm a 16 year old high schooler, I'm learning python and I want to become an ai/ML engineer. By profession,
I'm quite proficient in English, I started learning english when I was 12, because I had to learn it to get into a good college (education system in India is quite different), I started with Duolingo and later started watch YouTube videos with English audio and subtitles. I got quite good at english in a years time, at that point some of my batchmates asked me what method I followed to learn english, I told them they can do it too if they want, I even helped some of my friends to learn english. Now I'm thinking of learning french, I've always found the language very interesting, I often watch french movies and I can somewhat understand some french words that I've heard before, that's all.

1. So my question is, Is it worth it to learn french, while I have no plans of going to a french speaking country anytime soon, If yes then Why ?
2. How much time will it take to become proficient in french, given that I've not started yet.

Thanks in advance, please be kind and humble, I'm just a high schooler.
