Does anyone else find it suspicious how the police just arrest Trump and can send him to prison?

Every top-level government has a bunch of eteran crook billionaires that have a shit ton of skeletons in the closet that can land them in prison at any given second. Now imagine if all these people decided to have a battle royale in order to climb the highest ranks. Do you think that's possible? Wouldn't they sacrifice each other if they happen to fail to fulfill their part of the deal?
