Why is it so hard to understand what someone was trying to say to ChatGPT

I have been a user of ChatGPT for a while now and it is so hard to get it to understand what you mean to say. Shooting myself in the foot by having such a hard time making it understand when it has such a hard time understanding what I say because I use a lot of broken english. I'm talking about when someone says "imagine I'm in a scenario and just described it to you, what do you think will happen" they say something completely different. I just want the "imagine that you're in this specific situation" function like on in the 'help' page. But instead it always thinks that I am saying something else. So frustrating.
