The # of people I've met who really want to do everything from start a personal chef business to become the head of food for a school district but cannot get their own lives put together is simply amazing. I love having discussions on how to feed people but the # of people who cannot cook for themselves amazes me. If you cannot handle your own life personal life, how in the heck do you think you are going to feed 400 children? If you cannot nail down health insurance that is not tied to a job, how are you going to get a small business off the ground? Some people have a great idea but have so little life experience. Where is the loyalty? How are you going to deal with the frantic calls? How do you plan to handle personal attacks? Day to day challenges will eat you alive. If you cannot handle your life, how do you think you will be able to do it for others? Day to day challenges will eat you alive. Where is the loyalty? How do you plan to nail down insurance that is not tied to a job? Do you have a 401 plan, retirement account, or savings plan? Can you get personal loans at a good rate? Do you have a pension? These questions are not becoming of a chef that has just graduated from culinary school. If you cannot handle your personal life, how do you think you will handle having a business? How will you nail down health insurance that is not tied to a job? Do you have a 401 account? Do you have a personal bankroll? How do you plan to handle personal attacks? How will you deal with frantic calls from the health department? Do you have an exit plan? Day to day challenges will eat you alive.

The only people who are able to do what you do are serial tailgaters. Even personal chefs need tailgaters. Tailgaters will nail down the health department, they will nail down insurance, they will get the needed permits. If you are not a serial tailgater, you need to get your life together first.

TL/DR: Day to day challenges will eat you alive. If you cannot handle your personal life, how do you think you will be able to do it for others? Your business tailgates off your personal life.
