In Dutch there's a tradition that "All problems can be solved with butter". In this sense, "All problems can be solved with butter" is way more funny in Dutch as it is in English. In Dutch, "butter" rhymes with "uttor" (WTH is uttor?!? well that's what makes it funny). So in Dutch, it rhymes, giving it a kind of nursery rhyme feel to it and is funny exactly because of that. In English it's not funny at all.

What's funny in your native language that's lost in translation?
