$250 budget, first gun, 9mm, no Glock

I am purchasing my first gun, and I'm not the biggest fan of Glocks, no offense. I am very undersized at 5'2 and 115, and I want something easy to carry and shoot, that also wouldn't be huge and cumbersome. What would you recommend in the 9mm range? I want something that won't break the bank because I'm barely scraping by with no real budget, but I want the best bang for my buck.
