Could bacteria be the foundation of an ecosystem?

It seems to be that most stable ecosystems were formed on the basis of plants photosynthesizing and becoming the energy output of the ecosystem. But I was curious, could you imagine an ecosystem that is entirely reliant on chemotrophic bacteria to be the cornerstone of an ecosystem? I know there exist ecosystems that exist on chemosynthetic bacteria, but is this enough to have a stable functioning planet?<br><br>If you think so, what would the planet have to look like?
